Montevideo seminar 2024
My recent visit to Montevideo was a captivating journey where I combined the teachings of Kyusho and Sensory Energetics with the unique cultural charm of Uruguay’s capital. Montevideo, often overshadowed by its larger neighbors, is a city with a rich cultural heritage, vibrant arts scene, and a laid-back atmosphere that made it the perfect setting for exploring the deeper aspects of sensory healing and self-restoration.

Montevideo seminar 2024
Montevideo is a city that feels both historic and modern. Its colonial-era architecture, tree-lined streets, and bustling markets provide a beautiful backdrop for daily life. The city’s rambla, a long promenade along the coast, offers stunning views of the Río de la Plata and is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. This serene environment naturally complemented the workshops, where participants could immerse themselves in the calming energy of the city while exploring the principles of sensory healing.
During my time in Montevideo, I guided participants through the principles of Sensory Energetics, focusing on how to awaken and enhance their natural energy flow for healing and self-restoration. The Uruguayan culture, with its strong sense of community, appreciation for the arts, and deep connection to nature, resonated beautifully with the practices we explored. Participants learned to connect with their body’s energy systems, releasing tensions and emotional burdens, and restoring a sense of inner harmony.
One of the most memorable aspects of our sessions was how we incorporated the cultural elements of Montevideo into our practice. The city’s vibrant music scene, especially the rhythm of candombe, a traditional Afro-Uruguayan music and dance, became a powerful tool for helping participants connect with their body’s natural rhythms. The gentle sound of waves along the rambla also served as a backdrop for meditation, helping to deepen the participants’ connection with their sensory experiences.
Montevideo has a rich tradition of wellness, from its emphasis on a relaxed, balanced lifestyle to the widespread practice of sharing mate, a ritual that fosters social connection and relaxation. These cultural elements blended seamlessly with the concept of self-restoration—using one’s energy to heal and reset the nervous system. The participants embraced the idea that true healing is a holistic process, involving not just the body but also the mind and the social environment in which they live.
A particularly memorable session took place in the historic Ciudad Vieja, the oldest part of Montevideo. Surrounded by colonial buildings and the vibrant street art that characterizes the area, we practiced sensory meditation. The participants could feel the deep connection between their personal energy and the cultural energy of Montevideo, which guided them toward deeper healing and self-awareness.
Exploring Montevideo also gave me the opportunity to experience its rich cultural life. Whether attending a traditional tango performance, visiting the iconic Teatro Solís, or strolling through the Mercado del Puerto to enjoy local cuisine, the city’s charm and cultural depth deeply influenced our sessions. The warmth and hospitality of the Uruguayan people added a special energy to our work, making the experience truly unforgettable.
As I left Montevideo, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to teach in such a culturally rich and welcoming environment. The experience underscored the idea that sensory healing is deeply connected to the places we inhabit and the cultures we engage with. Montevideo, with its unique blend of tradition, arts, and natural beauty, provided the perfect setting to explore the power of sensory energetics and self-restoration.
